Hamas has freed three more hostages in the latest round of releases under the ceasefire deal with Israel. Among the group are US-Israeli Keith Siegel and Yarden Bibas, the father of the youngest hostage taken captive during the October 7, 2023, attacks.
Following the release of the three hostages, Israel freed nearly 200 Palestinian prisoners. Some were carried aloft by jubilant crowds in the occupied West Bank, while others were immediately taken to hospital.
There was a heavy Hamas presence in Gaza City when Siegel was released but Saturday’s exchanges have been smooth. The last round of releases was marred by chaotic scenes, prompting complaints from Israel.
