A suspect accused of a deadly terrorist attack on New Year’s Day in New Orleans has been identified.

The FBI has identified the suspect accused of carrying out the attack as Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen of Texas.

Jabbar was driving a Ford pickup truck, which the FBI says appears to be rented and they are working to confirm how he came into possession of the truck.

An ISIS flag was located in the truck and the FBI is working to determine if the suspects potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organization.

According to the FBI, Jabbar drove a pickup truck into the crowd, killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens.

After hitting the crowd, he got out of the car and began firing at law enforcement. Shots were returned by law enforcement and Jabbar was killed at the scene.

Weapons and a potential IED were located in the truck and the FBI is working to determine the subject’s potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organizations.
